Oleksandr Doroshyn
Olexandr Volodymyrovych Doroshyn, a highly skilled master at the Zhytomyr factory and a brave machine gunner, was officially declared deceased on December 23, 2025. His earthly journey ended in the vicinity of the village of Pavlivka in the Donetsk region, where he defended the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine until his last breath. He was 52 years old.
Olexandr was born on August 15, 1973, in Zhytomyr. He belonged to a generation of railway workers whose life experience and professionalism upheld the reliability of support processes.
Olexandr joined the "iron family" in February 2019, dedicating six years of his life to the railway. He was a 5th-grade locksmith-plumber in the auxiliary section of the production unit "Zhytomyr Track Repair and Mechanical Plant" (a branch of the Central Railway Engineering and Construction Plant).
Colleagues remember him as a person of extraordinary endurance and positivity. Even in the most challenging work situations, Olexandr maintained an optimism that inspired those around him. He was a top-level professional whose life wisdom and willingness to lend a helping hand made him indispensable in the team.
On September 12, 2022, Olexandr Volodymyrovych was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. With prior military service experience (2001–2003), he did not hesitate to take up arms in defense of his homeland, serving as a machine gunner in the infantry company.
Just two weeks after mobilization, he went directly to the combat zone. Olexandr carried out missions in the most challenging areas of the front, demonstrating courage and resilience. For a long time, he was considered missing in action after one of the battles, until tragic confirmation arrived at the end of 2025.
Olexandr was an example of human dignity—both in peaceful life and with a weapon in hand. His death is a great sorrow for his native Zhytomyr and the entire factory team. His dedication to his homeland will forever be etched in the history of the country.
We express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Olexandr Volodymyrovych.
The team of the Zhytomyr Track Repair and Mechanical Plant bows their heads in deep mourning. The bright memory of a reliable comrade and a sincere person will live on in our hearts forever.
Eternal memory and glory to the Hero!
