Oleksandr ZADOYA
Oleksandr was born in the city of Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske). After obtaining his qualification as a locksmith for rolling stock repair, he dedicated 18 years of his life to the railway. He worked at the Dniprodzerzhynsk wagon depot, and since 2006, he served as a wagon inspector and repairman at the Kamianske wagon depot.
Oleksandr came from a railway family. His wife Yevheniya shares that family was his top priority. He mastered all construction trades to earn extra money and was a jack-of-all-trades. In peaceful times, Oleksandr wrote beautiful songs and performed them on the guitar.
On March 1, 2022, Oleksandr went to defend his homeland. He served in the reconnaissance company as a radio operator (also as a shooter-sanitizer/scout) and was wounded twice.
39-year-old soldier Oleksandr Zadoya was killed on September 25, 2023, during combat near the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. Just a few days before his death, on September 21, he celebrated his 39th birthday.
Oleksandr is survived by his wife Yevheniya, their 17-year-old son Oleksandr, and 14-year-old daughter Khrystyna. Overwhelmed with despair and a desire for revenge, his wife also went to war after his death.
The hero was buried at the Alley of Glory in the city of Kamianske.
The team at the Kamianske wagon depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" remembers Oleksandr Zadoya with deep respect and unspeakable sorrow. Eternal memory to the Warrior!
