Yarmuratiy Pavlo Hennadiyovych, a young railway worker, sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and devoted son of his people, died for the freedom of our state on March 28, 2026. His life was cut short while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Mala Vovcha in the Kharkiv region. He was only 25 years old.

Pavlo belonged to that generation that met its youth not in celebrations, but in trenches, defending Ukraine's right to exist.

Pavlo was born in Odesa region, in the village of Vasyliivka, but his true home became the city of Podilsk, where his family moved in 2006.

He graduated from school No. 6 and the Odesa Center for Vocational and Technical Education, where he trained as an electric gas welder.

He began his career in February 2019 at the production unit "Podilsk Locomotive Depot."

Colleagues remember Pavlo as an extremely diligent and responsible worker. Despite his young age, he quickly earned respect in the mechanical shop due to his professionalism and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Even during his service, he remained part of the team, officially transferred to the "Locomotive Company" branch in September 2025.

Pavlo's military journey began even before the full-scale invasion. From 2019 to 2020, he served his mandatory service, where he attained the rank of sergeant. On April 30, 2021, he rejoined the Armed Forces of Ukraine during mobilization.

Pavlo dedicated 5 years of his life to defending his homeland—significantly more than he worked on the peaceful railway.

For his courage and dedication, Pavlo was awarded:

The Presidential Award of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine";

The "War Veteran" medal;

The medal "For Personal Contribution to the Development of the City of Zaporizhzhia."

The hardest hit by Pavlo's loss is his family. His one-year-old son Yegor is left without a loving father, who will only know of his father's heroism through stories. His wife Yuliya and parents—Alla Petrivna and Hennadiy Yuriyovych—are in despair.

The team at "Podilsk Locomotive Depot" deeply mourns alongside Pavlo's relatives. We have lost not just a qualified specialist, but a reliable friend, a sincere person, and a true Hero.

The bright memory of Pavlo Yarmuratiy, who chose the path of a warrior at such a young age, will forever remain in the history of the Odesa railway and in our hearts.

Eternal memory to Pavlo! Heroes do not die!
