Petro KIKA
Petro dedicated his entire working life to the railway, starting his job in 1986 right after serving in the army. He worked in the carriage section at the Khmelnytskyi station. His brother Viktor recalls that Petro loved his job very much, was devoted to it, valued order above all, and willingly taught young colleagues. He was accommodating, easy to communicate with, and always turned everything into a joke.
From the first days of the full-scale war, Petro evacuated people to safety. Despite his family's pleas not to go, he would respond, "Who else will go?" Petro dreamed of waiting for his grandchildren, but a Russian shelling cut his life short.
57-year-old passenger train conductor Petro Kika died on July 22, 2023, in a hospital in Kharkiv from severe multiple injuries sustained during a hostile missile strike on July 16, 2023, on a train at the Osnova station.
Petro is survived by his wife, son, and brother.
The team at the carriage section of Khmelnytskyi station of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows with indescribable pain to the memory of Petro Kika. We will not forget his sacrifice!
