Roman HADIUCHKO
Roman Hadiuchko was born in the village of Bilyky in the Poltava region to a family of railway workers: his father Vitaliy was a locomotive engineer, and his mother Lydia was the stationmaster of Lishchynivka. He graduated from the Kharkiv Railway Transport Technical School, where he obtained the qualification of "Technician - Organizer of Transportation." In 2003, he began working on the railway, serving as a dispatcher at the Lishchynivka railway station for the Southern Railway.
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Roman volunteered to join the Territorial Defense Forces, from which he was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in May 2024. He served in the Ground Forces, in the 2nd Airborne Battalion, as a sniper in the 3rd Airborne Squad.
His life as a soldier was cut short on July 15, 2024, in the vicinity of the village of Maksymiliyanivka in the Donetsk region as a result of enemy mortar fire. Roman was just 10 days shy of his 41st birthday.
In civilian life, Roman was busy setting up his home, raising two sons, and enjoyed underwater fishing.
Roman was a caring and kind person, taking his work seriously and performing it excellently, according to his colleagues. Colleague Tetiana Dudka noted, "The news of his death deeply affected the railway workers' team. Our Roma was kind, compassionate, responsible, reliable, and a true friend. The railway workers' team extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the fallen Hero. May you find light clouds, and may your memory shine bright; you will forever remain in our hearts."
The Hero is survived by his wife and two minor sons.
The team at the Lishchynivka station of the Southern Railway is deeply saddened and expresses sincere condolences to Roman Hadyuchko's wife, sons, and relatives. We bow our heads in memory of our colleague who stood up to defend the Motherland; his contribution to our common struggle is invaluable. Honor and glory to the defenders of Ukraine!
