Roman Morkvych
Roman Mykhailovych Morkvych was born and lived in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. After graduating from the Chernivtsi Technical School of Railway Transport, he immediately began working on the railway, continuing the proud labor traditions of Ukrainian railway workers.
He worked as an electromechanic, work performer, and construction and assembly master, and later as a mechanic in the main mechanic's service of the production unit "Construction and Assembly Train Stryi" of the branch "Enerhoremtrans" of the joint-stock company "Ukrainian Railways" (currently serving as a mechanic in the production unit "Construction and Assembly Train Stryi"). His work experience on the railway totaled 22 years.
In June 2024, Roman Mykhailovych was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the mechanized troops, where he demonstrated courage, resilience, and true love for his homeland.
Roman was killed on July 2, 2025, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission in the settlement of Oleksiivka, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.
Throughout his years of work, he proved to be a responsible, proactive, and highly qualified specialist who always diligently fulfilled his duties. His professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help earned him the sincere respect of colleagues and management. Colleagues remember Roman Mykhailovych as a person with a big heart, calm, balanced, and sincere. He always supported others, knew how to encourage in difficult times, shared his experience, and never stood aside from the common cause. His diligence and humanity left a deep mark in the memory of all who had the honor of working with him.
His loving parents, sisters, and only daughter are left without Roman. We express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.
