Ruslan HERASIMENKO
Ruslan was born in the city of Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region. He dedicated his life to the railway, spending 35 years in the profession. In 1990, he joined the railway family at the Nikopol Motor Car Depot, where he worked as a driver of heavy-duty trucks.
Colleagues remember him as a calm, balanced, and conscientious person who always approached his duties with responsibility. Ruslan was active in the community life of the team and earned well-deserved respect and high authority among his peers. For his achievements at work, he received numerous commendations from the depot and railway management.
On March 18, 2022, Ruslan was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a mechanic-driver, becoming an example of courage and dedication for his comrades. For his displayed bravery and successful execution of combat missions, he was awarded the honorary badge of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — the "Golden Cross" — in May 2023.
In his free time from service and work, Ruslan engaged in his favorite hobbies: he was passionate about cars, fishing, and played the guitar beautifully.
Ruslan Gerasіmenko, a driver of motor vehicles, died on April 23, 2025, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The life of the Hero was cut short while carrying out a combat mission in the vicinity of the settlement of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
Ruslan is survived by his mother, father, son, grandson, and sister.
