Serhiy SAMOFALOV

Serhiy was born and lived in the village of Znamianka in the Kirovohrad region. In October 2017, he started working on the railway as a fourth-class train movement regulator at the Znamianka station.

In 2021, Serhiy was enlisted for military service under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and assigned to the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after the Cossack Ataman Kosty Hordiienko. Since 2021, he directly participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He bravely defended Ukrainian land, saved his comrades, and inspired everyone with his patriotism and resilience.

Serhiy Samofalov was killed on April 26, 2022, in the city of Lysychansk, Donetsk region, during an artillery shelling.

He was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.

He is survived by his wife and son.

The team of the station service of the Znamianka region of the regional branch "Odesa Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague. His heroic death during enemy shelling is a great sacrifice. Eternal glory to the Hero!
