Serhiy SHEIKO
Serhiy was born in the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from the Dnipro Institute of Railway Engineers. In July 2007, he began working at the Velykotokmatska railway distance of the Dnipro Railway. During this time, he progressed from a track fitter to a track master.
On July 11, 2022, Serhiy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. Unfortunately, he managed to serve for just over a month and a half.
46-year-old Serhiy Sheiko heroically died on August 29, 2022, while defending positions near the village of Zaitseve in the Donetsk region.
Serhiy is survived by his wife, who is abroad, and his parents, who are in the occupied territory.
The team at the Velykotokmatska railway distance of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their colleague. His brief but bright military path and self-sacrifice serve as an enduring example of courage for all who knew him. Glory to the Hero!
