Vadym PYLNYK
Vadym was born in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region. He began his career in October 2010 as a trackman. Thanks to his diligence and thirst for knowledge, he graduated from Vinnytsia Transport College in 2014 and took on the responsible position of a master of the track diagnostics section at the Nizhyn track distance.
In April 2022, Vadym joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the reactive artillery troops, where under the call sign "Barman," he dealt devastating blows to the occupiers, bravely defending the sovereignty of our state.
Vadym, the master of the track diagnostics section, was killed on October 11, 2025, while performing a combat mission near the settlement of Novoandriivka in the Kramatorsk district of Donetsk region. His life was cut short by the strike of an enemy drone on his combat vehicle. He was 35 years old, with 15 of those years dedicated to the railway.
Colleagues remember Vadym as a reliable friend and a true professional in his field. He was kind, sincere, and the genuine soul of the team. His readiness to always lend a hand and his boundless optimism made him special among those around him. Vadym had many bright dreams that he hoped to realize after our victory.
Vadym is survived by his father, mother, wife, and two sons.
The team of the Nizhyn track distance of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and deep respect in memory of Vadym. His professionalism, kindness, and ultimate sacrifice will forever be etched in our hearts. Eternal memory and honor to our Hero!
