Valentyn Haponenko

He was born, raised, and lived his entire life in the village of Zazirky, Konotop district, Sumy region. He dedicated his work to his native land. Since August 2025, he had been employed as a cleaner of rolling stock at the Sumy Carriage Division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he joined the Volunteer Formation of the Territorial Community "Tryzub" in the Krolevets district, fulfilling his duty to protect his beloved Krolevets region with honor. His comrades knew him as a reliable friend, a man of his word and honor, who always acted diligently and responsibly.

The defender, a cleaner of rolling stock, tragically lost his life on December 8, 2025, as a result of a drone strike while on duty defending the Krolevets urban territorial community.

He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a happy grandfather.

The defender is survived by his wife, two daughters, and four grandchildren.

The team at the Sumy Carriage Division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in profound sorrow and deep respect for their colleague. Our employee, who was a caring grandfather and a brave volunteer, died defending his community from enemy attacks. His dedication, honor, and irreplaceable sacrifice will forever serve as a model of service to the Motherland. Eternal memory to the Hero!
