Valeriy POPOV

Valeriy was born on September 17, 1970, in the city of Koziatyn. His journey into the railway profession began after completing his studies at the second secondary school and the Vinnytsia vocational technical school. After serving in the military, Valeriy decided to dedicate his life to the road and the railway.

From June 14, 1991, until the day of his mobilization, Valeriy Yuriyovych worked as a passenger car conductor at the "Carriage Division of Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi Station." Over 25 years of working on the railway, he became a true professional, known as a responsible colleague and a person devoted to his work. His journey encompassed thousands of kilometers of roads and hundreds of grateful passengers to whom he provided care and safety.

However, on February 27, 2022, his life path changed—Valeriy took up arms to defend his homeland. Sergeant Popov served as an operator in the anti-tank division of the fire support company. He bravely faced the challenges of war, defending Ukraine in the hottest spots.

On September 26, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Dubovo-Vasylivka in Donetsk region, Valeriy's life was cut short. He sustained injuries incompatible with life due to enemy artillery shelling. This occurred just nine days after his 52nd birthday.

Valeriy Yuriyovych was not only a soldier and railway worker but also a loving husband and father. Together with his wife, they raised two wonderful children—son Dmytro and daughter Liza.

The team at the "Carriage Division of Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi Station," a branch of the "Passenger Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," along with the entire railway family, expresses deep condolences to the family of the fallen. We bow our heads in honor of our colleague's courage. His dedication to work and heroism in battle will forever remain in our memory.
