Viktor KALYUZHNYI

Viktor Kalyuzhnyi was born in the village of Novooleksandrivka, Znamyanka district, Kirovohrad region. He graduated from Petryvka Secondary School and then studied at Dmytrivsk Technical School No. 39 until 1985, obtaining a qualification as a tractor driver-combiner.

In January 1993, he joined the railway family, becoming a 4th class shooter. He dedicated 31 years of his life to the railway. He served as a 4th class shooter in the team of the militarized guard at Znamyanka station, part of the "Znamyanka Militarized Guard" production structural unit of the "Departmental Militarized Guard" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."

Colleagues remember him as a passionate, disciplined, and responsible worker with a great sense of humor. Viktor managed to complete his tasks while also helping his colleagues when needed.

On March 1, 2022, Viktor joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the infantry, where he was an example of bravery and dedication for his comrades. He courageously defended his homeland and provided a worthy resistance to the occupiers.

On July 4, 2024, Viktor Kalyuzhnyi was killed while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine as a result of an "SVP" drop from a drone on the position of the "SONI" unit in the vicinity of the settlement of Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

Viktor is survived by his wife, daughter, and son.

The team of the Znamyanka Militarized Guard deeply mourns the irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to Viktor Kalyuzhny's wife, children, family, and loved ones. His 31 years of loyalty to the railway and fearless defense of the homeland will forever remain in our hearts.
