Yaroslav HRYGORASH

Yaroslav Hryhorash was a warrior by spirit, upbringing, and his principled civic stance. His life is a story of honor, dedication to his homeland, and unyielding faith in justice.

In peaceful life, Yaroslav worked as a first-category commercial agent at the Nadvirna station (a unit of the "Khriplyn Station" in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of the "Station Operations Service" of the regional branch of "Lviv Railway"). Colleagues remember him as a professional in his field, a reliable and sincere person. Yaroslav always radiated optimism, and his smile was a source of support for everyone who worked alongside him.

With the onset of the full-scale invasion, on February 26, 2022, he did not hesitate to join the ranks of defenders of Ukraine. Together with his comrades, Yaroslav defended the sovereignty of our state in the most challenging areas of the front.

In July 2025, the family received alarming news: after a fierce firefight with enemy infantry near the settlement of Shcherbynivka in Donetsk region, Yaroslav was considered missing in action. Long months of hope and waiting ended in pain—on March 31, 2026, official confirmation of the Hero's death was received.

Yaroslav returned home on a shield. In deep sorrow, the employees of the Nadvirna station and the entire Ivano-Frankivsk region of the railway accompanied their colleague on his final journey. "Everyone who knew Yaroslav, who studied or worked with him, who fought alongside him—everyone will remember him as cheerful, honest, and endlessly brave," shared memories those whose lives he warmed with his light.

Yaroslav is survived by his wife and father. No words can ease this pain, but the memory of his heroism will forever be etched in the history of the "iron family" and all of Ukraine.

The team of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," the "Station Operations Service" of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, and the Nadvirna station of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" express their deepest condolences to the family of the fallen Hero. The bright memory of Yaroslav will live on forever!
