Yevhen HAVRYUSHCHENKO
Yevhen was born in the village of Mala Tokmachka in the Orikhiv district of the Zaporizhzhia region. He received a secondary education.
He began his career on the railway in 2021 as a trackman in the Polohy track section. After the city of Polohy was occupied by the enemy, he, as a forced displaced person, started working at the 2nd section of the Verkhovtseve track.
When the full-scale war began, he volunteered to go to the front on February 24, 2022. He fought in hot spots in the Kramatorsk and Bakhmut directions.
Yevhen was killed on July 2, 2025, during combat operations in the Kharkiv region.
Alexander Perevernyhata, the master of the 2nd section of the Verkhovtseve track, shared that Yevhen was a conflict-free and friendly person. He easily integrated into the team, got along well with everyone, knew how to work in a team, and never sought opportunities to avoid hard work. After mobilization, he maintained contact with his colleagues and was happy to meet them. Yevhen's wife remembers her fallen husband as a very kind and positive person: “He never refused anyone,” she says. “He was very hardworking, getting up to tend to the household at 4 a.m., a true master. He was also a big dreamer: he dreamed of starting a beekeeping business and becoming a beekeeper; he even got a metal detector to search for treasures.”
He is survived by his parents, wife, and daughter. We express our sincere condolences to Yevhen's family and loved ones.
The team of the track management of the regional branch "Dniprovsk Railway" mourns the irreparable loss. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague and hero.
