Yuriy KLYMARCHUK
Yuriy Serhiiovych was born in the village of Vesele in the Mezhivskyi district of Dnipropetrovsk region. He recently got married and bought a house in Mezhova. After the onset of the full-scale invasion, he did not evacuate but continued to work at the structural unit "Pokrovsk Locomotive Depot." As the front approached in June, he, along with other employees, was transferred internally to the "Sloviansk Locomotive Depot." Yurii worked as an assistant locomotive driver in the locomotive servicing section at the Bakhmut station of the "Sloviansk Locomotive Depot" within the regional branch of "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." He dedicated 12 years to his work on the railway.
On July 13, 2025, at the Dobropillia station, while performing shunting operations in the "Shakhta 3 Bilozerska" yard, an FPV drone struck the diesel locomotive series ChMEZ No. 3426, resulting in a fire on the locomotive. Yurii Serhiiovych died on the spot while carrying out his official duties.
During his time at work, he established himself as a disciplined, hardworking, and goal-oriented employee. Friends and colleagues knew Yurii as a kind, cheerful, active, and sociable companion, and they speak warmly of him. He loved his job very much and took pride in working on the railway, dreaming of becoming a locomotive driver.
The team at the Sloviansk Locomotive Depot mourns the irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to Yurii Serhiiovych's family and loved ones. Eternal memory to a colleague who died while fulfilling his professional duty.
