Denys HOIAN
Denys Hoian was born in the village of Subottsi in the Kirovohrad region. He studied at Subottsi Secondary School and later graduated from the Znamyanka Technical Railway College, where he obtained the specialty of a locksmith for rolling stock repair and assistant locomotive driver. He worked on the railway as an assistant locomotive driver at the Znamyanka locomotive depot of the Odesa Railway.
On November 25, 2019, Denys enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract. Initially, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation, and after the onset of the full-scale invasion, he did not hesitate to defend his homeland.
26-year-old Senior Soldier Denys Hoian was killed on July 5, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Ternova in the Kharkiv region. In July 2024, during an enemy artillery shelling, Denys sustained injuries incompatible with life.
Denys was buried in his native village of Subottsi.
The team at the Znamyanka locomotive depot deeply mourns this irreparable loss and expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of Senior Soldier Denys Hoyan. He was a true son of his country and the railway family, who consciously chose the path of a warrior. We will always remember his courage and bravery.
