Kateryna BORISOVA
She was accustomed to greeting and seeing off hundreds of passengers, offering them warmth on their journeys and ensuring that every trip was safe. However, on October 29, 2026, the usual workday at Dnipro-Glavny station was abruptly interrupted by a terrible tragedy. An enemy drone attacked the area near platform 9, where suburban train No. 866, connecting Dnipro-Glavny and Zaporizhzhia-1, was preparing for departure. While heading for shelter during an air raid alert, Kateryna Stepanivna Borysova sustained injuries that were incompatible with life.
Kateryna was born on December 6, 1965, in the picturesque village of Bandurove in Kirovohrad Oblast. It was there that her strong character, diligence, and genuine respect for people were formed. She dedicated 24 years of her life to the steel highways, working as a passenger train conductor in local trains of the production structural unit "Dnipro Motor Car Depot" of the "Suburban Passenger Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."
In the depot, she was known as a person of extraordinary discipline and inner strength. Over nearly a quarter of a century of diligent work, Kateryna Stepanivna earned immense respect from both her colleagues and management. Her professionalism was recognized at the highest levels: in 2015, she received a commemorative watch from the railway chief, was awarded certificates of appreciation and monetary rewards, and in 2026, she received a letter of thanks from the entire Joint Stock Company "Ukrzaliznytsia."
But above all, she loved life and her family. She was a wonderful, caring mother and grandmother, for whom her sons and granddaughter were the main source of joy and the meaning of existence. Her sons Anatolii and Vitalii and her beloved granddaughter Yelyzaveta are left without their dearest person.
The team of the production structural unit "Dnipro Motor Car Depot" and the entire branch of the "Suburban Passenger Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows its heads in sorrow in memory of our dear colleague.
The bright memory of Kateryna Stepanivna Borysova—her kind smile, professional dedication, and golden heart—will forever remain in the hearts of those who walked through life with her and shared the railway paths.
Eternal memory and honor!
