Denys KRAVCHUK
Denys was born and lived in the town of Novi Bilokorovychi in the Zhytomyr region. He worked as a 4th class electric gas welder at the Korosten locomotive depot.
On February 25, 2022, Denys voluntarily took up arms to defend his homeland. "All my guys are already there, and I am going too," he explained his decision. He served as a driver-electrician in the starting section of the 2nd platoon of unmanned aerial vehicle complexes (RBAC) of the 54th separate reconnaissance battalion. His comrades called him "The Eyes of Chernihiv," as he participated in the fiercest battles for the liberation of Chernihiv. The commander speaks of Denys as a brave and skilled warrior who quickly mastered the profession of aerial reconnaissance.
21-year-old soldier Denys Kravchuk was killed on June 15, 2022, near the village of Pokrovske in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region. He sustained multiple shrapnel wounds.
Posthumously, Denys was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd class.
Denys is survived by his parents and sister.
The team at the Korosten locomotive depot of the regional branch "South-Western Railways" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of their young colleague. His courage, initiative, and combat path in Chernihiv, marked by the Order, are a symbol of the resilience of the younger generation. Eternal glory to the Hero!
