Ihor Savochkin
Ihor Vyacheslavovych Savochkin was born on August 31, 1971, in the village of Katerynka, Pervomaiskyi District, Mykolaiv Oblast. From childhood, he was an open, sincere, and kind-hearted boy. He was passionate about strength sports and loved fishing. In 1994, he graduated from the Pervomaisk Polytechnic College with a degree in "Material Processing on Machines and Automatic Lines" and received the qualification of technician-technologist.
In 2008, Ihor joined the railway family, becoming an electromechanic in the repair and inspection section at Podilsk station. He worked as an electromechanic in the 2nd group of the production unit "Podilsk Electric Supply Distance" of the regional branch "Odesa Railway." He dedicated 16 years of his life to the railway.
In February 2022, Igor took up arms to defend Ukraine, serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he diligently and honestly fulfilled his duties, demonstrating courage, dedication to his homeland, and true love for his people.
Colleagues always remember him as a passionate, disciplined, and responsible worker with a great sense of humor. "Igor managed to complete his tasks and, when needed, help his colleagues," says his mentor Volodymyr Loyko. "He quickly earned the respect of his peers." Even during short vacations, Igor found time to meet with his railway friends, inquiring about work and sharing frontline stories.
On May 18, 2024, Ihor Vyacheslavovych was killed while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine from injuries sustained during an artillery shelling by the enemy on the island of Nestryha, Kherson Oblast. His heart stopped in the fight for peace and freedom for each of us. He will forever be 53.
The greatest value in his life was his children. He was a caring and loving father, but his plans and happy future were cut short by the war.
His parents, wife, and son are left without their beloved son.
The Podilsk Electric Supply Distance shares the heavy pain of Igor Vyacheslavovych's family. We bow our heads in sorrow and express our deepest condolences to his parents, wife, and son.
