Kostyantyn Rychahovskyi
Kostyantyn Rychahovskyi was born on January 22, 1979, in the town of Lyubinsky, Lyubinsky District, Omsk Region.
He studied at Dniprodzerzhynsk Professional Technical School No. 24 and obtained the qualification of electric gas welder. From December 1999 to February 2003, he worked as a manual arc welder of the 3rd category at the Verkhivtsivsky Rail Welding Train No. 39 of the State Enterprise "Dniprovskaya Railway." In February 2003, he was transferred to the position of welder on contact welding machines, and on May 2, 2019, he resigned at his own request.
In the structural unit of the Verkhivtsivsky Rail Welding Train of the branch "Center for Track Construction and Repair" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," he worked as a welder on contact welding machines of the 5th category since October 27, 2020. His total railway service amounted to 23 years, 2 months, and 18 days.
His character was marked by kindness, openness, and diligence. He performed his duties meticulously and attentively, paying attention to details. He was a mentor to the youth. His dreams for the future were tied to his family and homeland—he dreamed of returning to his family and his favorite workplace to pursue his beloved profession.
On February 25, 2022, Konstantin's ordinary, peaceful, and calm life changed forever. He made an important and brave decision—to defend Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation. This was not his first step; from 2015 to 2016, he served in the ATO zone.
During his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he was awarded: a Combatant Participant Certificate; a Letter of Gratitude for exemplary and conscientious performance of official (combat) duties... and the Honorary Distinction "Participant of ATO."
Kostyantyn Rychahovskyi was killed on March 29, 2024, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission in the Kharkiv direction.
He is survived by his wife and son.
The team of the Verkhivtsivsky Rail Welding Train expresses its deepest condolences on the loss of our colleague. We honor his kindness, conscientiousness at work, and the courage he displayed in defending Ukraine. Eternal memory and respect to the Hero!
