Mykhailo SVITLYK
Mykhailo Svitlyk came from a railway workers' settlement in Transcarpathia with a telling name, Korolevo. He worked as an electric gas welder in the restoration train in Korolevo.
Friends and colleagues recall that Mykhailo Mykhailovych had a talent and knack for technology not only at work but also outside of it – he loved and was skilled at repairing and restoring cars, so thanks to his efforts, more than one "rare find" was brought back to life and served its owner faithfully.
With the onset of the full-scale war, the railway worker went to the front, serving as a machine gunner in the platoon of the 5th Separate Rifle Battalion of Territorial Defense within the 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Soldier Mykhailo Svitlyk, together with his comrades, selflessly defended the glorious Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia from enemy encroachments.
Unfortunately, on April 11, 2024, during the execution of another combat mission in the area of the settlement of Robotyne, Mykhailo Svitlyk was killed. In September 2024, the fallen warrior would have celebrated his milestone 50th birthday.
The team of the restoration train in Korolevo shares the deep sorrow of the irreparable loss associated with the death of our colleague Mykhailo Svitlyk.
