Oleksandr SILCHENKO
Oleksandr was born on February 11, 1994, in the small village of Verkhnovodyane, Bliiznyukivskyi district of Kharkiv region. In 2014, after graduating from Lypkovatyi Agricultural College, he obtained a vocational education in "Production and Processing of Livestock Products." From November 2018 to March 2020, Oleksandr participated in the anti-terrorist operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In November 2019, he received a combatant certificate. Oleksandr began his railway career in September 2021 as a trackman of the 3rd category in the production unit "Lozivska Track Distance" of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia."
According to his colleagues, he was hardworking, strong-willed, and goal-oriented, always striving for self-improvement. He loved nature, often relaxing by the river and enjoying fishing.
From the first day of the full-scale invasion, on February 24, 2022, Oleksandr unhesitatingly took up the defense of Ukraine. He served as a senior soldier in a mechanized battalion, where he was an example of courage and dedication for his comrades.
Oleksandr was killed on December 31, 2022, while defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine during a combat mission near the settlement of Novoselivske in the Svatove district of Luhansk region.
We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Oleksandr was a loving son, a wonderful father of two children, a beloved husband, and a reliable brother.
