Oleksandr SVIRYDENKO
Oleksandr was born on August 25, 1987, in the city of Bakhmach in the Chernihiv region—a land with deep railway traditions. He dedicated 10 years of his working life to the railways. He began his career as a trackman at KMS-285 and joined the team of the Snovsk track division of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" in November 2018.
Colleagues remember Oleksandr as a man of his word and action. Calm, responsible, and always full of new ideas and plans—he was a true professional in his field. Oleksandr held great respect for his older mentors and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his comrades. For many, he was not just a colleague but a reliable friend whom they could count on at any moment.
On June 20, 2024, Oleksandr Petrovych joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Serving in the Ground Forces, he proved to be a brave and dedicated warrior. Courageously defending his homeland in one of the most challenging areas, he provided a worthy resistance to the occupiers, remaining an example for his brothers-in-arms.
Outside of service, Oleksandr was passionate about technology and found peace in fishing. He was young, promising, and had a whole life ahead of him, but the war had other plans. On March 13, 2026, during a combat mission near Pokrovsk, Oleksandr sustained serious injuries. Doctors fought for his life until the very end, but on March 21, 2026, the heart of the railway worker-defender stopped forever. He was 38 years old.
His parents, brother, and sister are left in deep sorrow. The family lost a loving son and brother, while the railway lost a dedicated specialist.
The team of the Snovsk track division of the regional branch "South-Western Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of our colleague. The bright image of Oleksandr, his courage, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.
