Roman Suprun
Roman Anatoliyovych Suprun, a professional railway worker and brave defender of Ukraine, died on June 29, 2024, while protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state. The life of the Hero was cut short during a combat mission in one of the most challenging areas of the front—the Pokrovsk direction.
Roman was born on January 31, 1975, in the city of Izium, Kharkiv region. He began his career in 1990 and joined the large railway family in 2000. Initially, he worked as a laborer but aspired for more, completing his studies at the Kharkiv Railway Transport Technical School through correspondence while working. He dedicated 24 years of his life to the railway, with the last 20 years serving as an electrician in the Kharkiv branch of "BMES."
A Professional with a Big Heart
Roman was a true master of his craft. His professionalism was officially recognized in 2010 when he was awarded the title of "Best in Profession." Colleagues remember him as "an electrician from God," who performed his work not just with quality, but with honesty and responsibility.
He was a reliable support, a wise advisor, and a person who never refused to help. His sharp mind and sincerity united the team.
His family remembers him as someone "who lovingly fixed the world." He was a just person who always lived by his conscience.
Outside of work, Roman combined a passion for technology with a love for serene nature. He cherished quiet fishing mornings, where he found peace of mind. His cherished dream was to spend his old age in his own home, surrounded by a blooming garden. The war took this dream away, but he gave his life so that gardens could bloom in peaceful Ukraine.
On April 9, 2024, Roman joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, choosing the path of a warrior to protect his home and loved ones.
