Serhiy KATERYNIUK
Serhiy was born in the village of Kochubeivka, Kherson region. In 2016, he began working on the railway as a mechanic for rolling stock repair at the Baturyn operational wagon depot (Kryvyi Rih). Before the war, he was a rural tenant and successfully engaged in farming in his spare time. His wife remembers him as a freedom-loving guy with character, who always stood for justice. Serhiy was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
On March 22, 2022, he once again took up the defense of his homeland, serving as a grenade launcher.
36-year-old Senior Soldier Serhiy Kateryniuk was killed on February 5, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Serhiy was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III class and the Commander's Badge "Kholodnyi Yar" II class.
