Taras Yegozha
On December 5, 2024, during a combat mission near the village of Dachenske in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, the life of railway worker and defender of Ukraine Taras Anatoliyovych Yehodzha was cut short. The warrior fought his last battle, holding back the enemy's onslaught in one of the hottest areas of the front. He was only 38 years old.
Taras was born and raised in the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv region, an important railway hub of the area. After finishing school, he served in the air defense forces. In 2020, he joined the large railway family, starting his career as a mechanic repairing rolling stock at the Lozova branch of the Kharkiv-Sorting depot.
Seeking professional growth, in 2021, Taras enrolled in the part-time department of the Lozova branch of the Kharkiv State Automobile and Road College, where he successfully obtained the qualification of technician-technologist. He applied his knowledge and diligence in the position of equipment repair master in the first group of the production unit "Osnova Depot" of the "UZ Vagon-Service" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." For nearly five years, he dedicated himself to ensuring the reliability of railway transport.
In October 2024, Taras Anatoliyovych took up the defense of his homeland. As part of a rifle battalion, he served as a shooter-assistant grenade launcher, defending Ukraine's freedom with weapon in hand.
Colleagues and loved ones remember Taras as an exceptionally polite, kind, compassionate, and deeply decent person, whose nobility and willingness to help earned the sincere respect of everyone who worked alongside him.
The fallen hero is survived by his mother.
The team of the production unit "Osnova Depot" and the entire branch of "UZ Vagon-Service" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its deepest condolences to Taras Yehodzha's mother, family, friends, and comrades. The bright memory of his kind heart, professional dedication, and heroic deeds will forever remain in our hearts.
Rest in peace, our Defender!
