Vladislav MAYBORODA

Vladislav was born in the village of Novotavrycheske, Orikhiv district, Zaporizhia region. His path to the profession was deliberate and strong: after graduating from the Dnipropetrovsk Railway Transport Technical School, he forever tied his fate to the steel highways.

For over 22 years of his life, Vladislav dedicated himself to the railway. He began his career in April 2004 as a 3rd category trackman in the Zaporizhia-2 distance. Due to his high skill, responsibility, and leadership qualities, he became a foreman (released) for current maintenance and repair of tracks and artificial structures of the 5th category at the Khortytsia distance of the regional branch "Dniprovsk Railway" by January 2011.

The master of the unit recalls that despite his managerial position on paper, Vladislav always worked alongside his team, never shying away from hard work and personally taking up tools when the situation required it. The work of the brigade was directly related to traffic safety—eliminating defects and maintaining artificial structures—and Vladislav performed it impeccably. He fostered strong camaraderie within the team, where everyone stood by each other and acted as one big family.

In September 2024, having the legal right to deferment as a valuable railway specialist, Vladislav refused to stay in the rear and answered the call of his heart by joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On December 3, 2024, during a combat mission near the city of Kurakhove in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region, communication with the soldier was lost, and he was considered missing for a long time. Only later, as a result of a difficult process of exchanging the bodies of the deceased with the Russian Federation, the Hero returned home on a shield, remaining true to his military oath and the Ukrainian people until his last breath.

In civilian life, Vladislav was a calm, balanced, and very hardworking person. He did not enjoy noisy gatherings; instead, he valued time-tested friends. He had "golden hands," was excellent with technology, and constantly took care of his car. In his free time, he loved to go fishing, and in the summer, he adored spending time with his family by the sea.

Vladislav is survived by his parents, brother Serhiy, and daughter. His death is an indescribable pain for his family and an irreparable loss for the "iron family."

The team of the Khortytsia distance of the regional branch "Dniprovsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses its deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of our colleague. We bow our heads in honor of his courage and great self-sacrifice. The bright memory of Vladislav will forever live in our hearts.
