Volodymyr DASHUTIN
Volodymyr Dashutin lived a short but extraordinarily dignified, honest, and profoundly meaningful life. When the country faced danger, he unhesitatingly chose the path of a defender, giving the most precious thing—his life—for the freedom, peace, and independence of Ukraine. He returned home "on his shield," leaving behind indescribable pain but also boundless pride for his deed.
Volodymyr was born in the city of Trostyanets in the Sumy region, where he was raised from a young age on the principles of honor, integrity, and hard work. After receiving a professional education, he tied his fate to the railway, dedicating seven years of diligent work to it.
At the locomotive depot in Smorodine, part of the "Locomotive Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," Volodymyr rose from a repair mechanic to a flawless, respected specialist. However, to his colleagues, he was much more than just an employee:
His sincerity, openness, and positive energy always brought people together.
Strong in spirit, Volodymyr never backed down from difficulties and was always ready to lend a friendly shoulder in tough times.
Despite the hard and responsible work, Volodymyr deeply appreciated the beauty of life and every moment of it.
His escape was fishing—a time when he could be alone with nature, find peace, and restore his strength.
On the football field, he displayed true enthusiasm, a thirst for movement, and a will to win, actively playing the sport.
He sincerely loved life, dreamed, made plans for the future, and above all adored his family.
In August 2019, guided by the call of his heart and the duty of a patriot, Volodymyr signed a contract and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He met the enemy bravely and stood for his native land until his last breath.
On January 25, 2025, while carrying out an extremely challenging combat mission, Volodymyr Dmytrovych Dashutin was killed. For a long year and a half, family, friends, and colleagues lived in uncertainty and hope, as the defender was considered missing in action. However, the miracle did not happen—the worst news was confirmed. Volodymyr returned to his homeland a Hero, who fulfilled his duty to the end.
"Death chases the best. Volodymyr will forever remain in memory as the embodiment of resilience, the sincere Ukrainian soul, and the highest love for the Motherland."
Volodymyr left behind a loving family, which was his main universe: a wife and two wonderful children—son Oleksandr and daughter Polina. No words can heal this wound, but the memory of their Hero father will live on in his children.
The entire community, the team at the Smorodine locomotive depot, and his comrades bow their heads in deep sorrow.
Eternal memory and glory to the Warrior, the railway worker, and the Hero!
