Anatoliy DERII
Anatoliy was born in the city of Kremenchuk, Poltava region. He joined the Kremenchuk locomotive depot after graduating from the Kremenchuk Railway Transport Technical School in June 1992 as an assistant locomotive driver. In July 2001, he was appointed as a locomotive driver, and from February 2009 until mobilization, he worked as an electric locomotive driver in the operational department of the "Kremenchuk Locomotive Depot" of the regional branch "Southern Railway" of the joint-stock company "Ukrainian Railways." His work experience in the railway sector spanned 32 years.
On February 12, 2024, Anatoliy Anatoliyovych personally refused to be reserved and volunteered to defend his country. He served as a private in the ground forces, delivering devastating blows to the occupiers.
He found time to meet with his railway friends, inquiring about work and sharing frontline stories. Kind, intelligent, hardworking, he loved the sea and mountains, cherished Ukrainian Crimea, where he vacationed every year, and did not chase after money, but simply enjoyed life. He dreamed of a peaceful, happy, and carefree life for his family.
Anatoliy was killed on September 8, 2024, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine while carrying out a combat mission in the Kupiansk direction.
His colleagues respected him and remember him as a knowledgeable, diligent, conscientious, and hardworking employee, whose work was repeatedly recognized by the depot management. Anatoliy was distinguished by deep modesty, sensitivity, and a desire to help others.
He was awarded the title of "War Veteran."
We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Anatoliy is survived by his parents, wife Iryna, and two sons, Maksym and Myroslav.
The team at the Kremenchuk Locomotive Depot mourns the irreparable loss. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague and hero.
