Andriy Dyachenko
Andriy was born in the village of Vasylivka in the Vinnytsia region and lived in Vinnytsia. He worked on the railway at the branch "Vinnytsia Transport Equipment," where he started in March 2017. He progressed from a locksmith to a 2nd class automatic machine operator.
Colleagues remembered Andriy as a responsible, diligent, and disciplined worker who was held in high regard. He was strong, handsome, brave, decent, and polite, loved football, and was very sociable.
On February 25, 2022, the second day of the full-scale invasion, Andriy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the commander of a mortar battery.
25-year-old Junior Sergeant Andriy Dyachenko, the mortar commander, was killed on February 20, 2024, while performing a combat mission near the village of Nevelske in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region.
For his courage and professionalism, Andriy was awarded numerous honors, including the medal "For Military Service to Ukraine," "Strong in Spirit," "For Blood Sacrifice in the Battles for the Freedom of Ukraine," and a letter of gratitude "For Demonstrated Professionalism."
Andriy is survived by his parents and sister.
