Andriy RABIY

Andriy was born in Lviv and lived in the village of Khorosnytsia in the Lviv region. In 2014, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk University of Railway Transport, earning a bachelor's degree in transport technologies. He worked on the railway as a cashier and cleaner in the production facilities of the Lviv station. Colleagues remembered him as a respected person and a wonderful family man.

On February 14, 2023, Andriy was called up to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he served as a shooter. He fought for about three months in the Bakhmut direction, and later his unit was redirected to the Kupiansk-Svatove direction.

33-year-old soldier Andriy Rabiy was killed on August 24, 2023, on Ukraine's Independence Day, near the village of Novoyehorivka in the Svatove district of Luhansk region.

His wife, Mariyana, who initiated a petition for him to be posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine, noted that Andriy was a "true warrior, patriot, and an example of resilience and strength of spirit." His comrades valued him as a man of his word, courage, and straightforwardness.

Andriy is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
