Artem KHOMYAK
Artem was born in the city of Lozova, Kharkiv region. He dedicated his working life to the railway. He graduated from the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport. He worked as a technology engineer at the "Panyutynskyi Car Repair Plant" branch, and later as a dispatcher at the "Center for Transport Logistics" branch. Colleagues remember him as an initiative, responsible, and professional worker.
On April 24, 2023, Artem was mobilized and underwent training at the National Academy of Land Forces, obtaining the qualification of a tactical-level officer. He served in the 28th Brigade in the Donetsk direction.
43-year-old Junior Lieutenant Artem Khomyak, commander of a mechanized platoon, was killed in action on August 20, 2023, near the settlement of Kurdiumivka in the Donetsk region. For eight months, he was considered missing in action.
The leadership of the military academy spoke of him as a disciplined, knowledgeable, persistent, and principled serviceman. He was courteous, polite, and had a strong sense of collectivism. Colleagues, friends, and family remember Artem as a bright, kind, and caring person, a loving son and brother.
Artem Khomyak was buried in the village of Horodok, Vinnytsia region, where he lived with his parents.
