05.11.1996 – 24.02.2022

Dmytro Volodymyrovych Holodniuk was born into a family of railway workers. He studied at the Sobolivska General Education School of I–II degrees in the Podilskyi district of Odesa region, and after graduating in 2012, he was admitted to the Odesa State Higher Educational Institution "Odesa College of Transport Technologies," specializing in "Electrician for Repair and Maintenance of Signaling Devices." He completed his studies on June 30, 2016.

From August 3, 2016, to May 13, 2019, he worked as an electromechanic for the repair and maintenance of signaling and centralization devices at the Podilsk Signal and Communication Distance of the Odesa Railway Regional Branch.

In 2019, he was appointed as a third-class shooter in the shooting team at the Podilsk station of the Odesa detachment of the militarized guard of the Odesa Railway Regional Branch.

Since July 2021, he voluntarily served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he exemplified courage and dedication to duty, bravely defending his homeland.

He was killed on February 24, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

During his time in the unit, he established himself as a responsible, diligent, initiative-taking, and hardworking employee. He responded promptly and resolved situations that arose while performing his duties. He was a modest person, simply doing what he deemed important. Intelligent, brave, talented, kind, and very positive, he earned the respect and authority of his colleagues. They remember him as a reliable friend and a true professional, the soul of the team, always ready to help. He dreamed of marrying his beloved girlfriend, but the war shattered his plans for a happy future.

He was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal, the "Combat Cross," the "For the Defense of Ukraine" medal, and the "OMNIVIDENS" badge.

We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Dmytro is survived by his parents and brother.

The team deeply mourns this irreparable loss. Eternal memory and honor to our colleague and hero.

The team of the Odesa detachment of the militarized guard of the joint-stock company "Ukrainian Railways" shares the indescribable pain of the family. We bow our heads in memory of Dmytro—our colleague and true Hero, who gave his life for Ukraine. His feat will not be forgotten.
