Dmytro was born on February 25, 1975. He worked as an electric locomotive driver at the Lyman locomotive depot of the "Donetsk Railway" branch.

In September 2023, Dmytro volunteered to defend his homeland.

48-year-old Dmytro Volodymyrovych Tkachenko, an electric locomotive driver, was killed on December 16, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Klishchiivka in Donetsk region.

His colleagues remember his kindness and zest for life, which will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Dmytro is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.

The team at the Lyman locomotive depot of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in deep, inexpressible sorrow before Dmytro Tkachenko. His courage, love for life, and heroic sacrifice will always be our symbol of bravery. Eternal memory to the Hero!
