Ihor Horbatiuk

Ihor was born in the town of Makoshyne, Chernihiv region. In 2021, at the age of 19, he began working on the railway as a 5th grade lumberjack in the production unit "Bakhmach Protective Forest Plantations."

Colleagues remember him as a calm, modest, shy, and kind worker who, despite his young age, was wise and prudent beyond his years. He always wanted to have a large family and be a true father.

On November 15, 2022, Ihor joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the mechanized troops, where he was an example of courage and dedication for his comrades.

21-year-old soldier Ihor was killed on July 26, 2023, defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine while carrying out a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

The defender was posthumously awarded the "Defender of the Fatherland" medal.

Ihor is survived by his wife and son.
