Ihor Omelchenko

Ihor Omelchenko was born in the city of Volnovakha, Donetsk region, where he lived with his wife. Immediately after graduating from Volnovakha Secondary School No. 1, he began working on the railway in 1979.

In the structural unit "Volnovakha Electric Supply Distance," he worked as a driver of motor vehicles (passenger cars with engine capacities from 1.8 to 3.5 liters). During his time there, he established himself as a disciplined, responsible, reliable, and hardworking employee, someone who could be counted on at any moment to handle the most challenging tasks.

On March 2, 2022, Igor Anatoliyovych was killed as a result of shelling in the city of Volnovakha, along with his wife.

Ihor is survived by two adult sons.

The team of the structural unit "Volnovakha Electric Supply Distance" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns this unspeakable tragedy. Ihor Anatoliyovych and his wife became innocent victims of Russian aggression. We will always remember him as a dedicated worker and a kind person. Eternal memory!
