Kostyantyn Opanasenko

Kostyantyn was born in the village of Vertiivka, Chernihiv region. He graduated from Kyiv Vocational Railway Transport College (conductor) and Vinnytsia Transport College (track maintenance technician). Since 2006, he worked on the railway, and from 2015, he served as a trackman in the Chernihiv track maintenance unit.

Colleagues describe Kyrylo as a very kind, decent, and bright person who always helped others. He loved sports and was an active participant in school events.

On April 8, 2022, Kostyantyn took up arms to defend his country. He initially served in a separate machine gun platoon and later as a driver, receiving commendation for his diligent performance of combat tasks.

35-year-old Senior Soldier Kostyantyn Opanasenko passed away on April 2, 2023, in a hospital due to severe injuries sustained on February 6, 2023, in the vicinity of the settlement of Klishchiivka in the Donetsk region.

He was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree.

Kostyantyn is survived by his wife and son.

The team of the Chernihiv track maintenance unit of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of Kyrylo Opanasenko. His diligence and willingness to help will forever remain an example for us. Glory to the defender!
