Mykola ANTONENKO
Mykola was born in the village of Olenivka in the Donetsk region and lived in Yampil. He worked at Ukrzaliznytsia as a 4th-grade grinder in the Liman rail welding train of the "Center for Track Construction and Repair" branch.
43-year-old Mykola Antonenko was killed by enemy hands during the occupation of the village of Yampil in the Donetsk region on September 29, 2022. Russian soldiers held him captive, tortured him, and murdered him a day before the liberation of the city of Liman.
Colleagues remember Mykola as a very good person and a specialist in his field. He loved children but did not have any of his own. In his free time, he helped people: he had a talent for massage and bone setting. He also enjoyed mushroom picking and fishing.
His wife Lyudmyla said: "My dear husband was a man with a pure soul. He did everything in the house with his own hands. He loved working with metal..."
Mykola is survived by his mother and wife.
The team of the Liman rail welding train at JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" honors the memory of this innocent victim of terror. The grinder, who was a specialist with a "pure soul," a jack-of-all-trades who helped people by setting bones, was tortured and killed by the occupiers. His innocent death at the hands of the enemy is a testament to the brutality of the war against the civilian population. Eternal and bright memory.
