Mykola Medvedenko
Mykola was born in the city of Krasnohorivka, Marinka district, Donetsk region. He began working on the railway in 1995 as a 6th category bulldozer operator for the recovery train at the Volnovakha station. Since December 2018, he has been a 6th category bulldozer operator (construction work) for the production unit at the Volnovakha station of the recovery train in Pokrovsk, part of the "Lyman Railway Transport Directorate" of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrainian Railways."
During his time at work, he established himself as a disciplined, hardworking, highly qualified, and knowledgeable employee who approached his duties with dedication. He shared his experience with young workers.
Due to his sensitivity, kindness, and great work ethic, Mykola Vasylovych earned the well-deserved respect of his railway colleagues.
Mykola Medvedenko died on March 20, 2022, from injuries sustained in the hospital after being caught in artillery shelling in Volnovakha by Russian occupation forces on March 2, 2022.
Mykola is survived by his family, which includes a son.
The team of the recovery train in Pokrovsk of the Lyman Railway Transport Directorate of the regional branch "Donetsk Railway" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of their colleague, Mykola Medvedenko. He was a highly qualified operator, dedicated to his work and a mentor to the youth. We remember his kindness and professionalism. We express our sincere condolences to the family who lost a father and husband.
