Mykola Tyshchenko
Mykola was born in the village of Hryhorivka, Poltava region. After graduating from vocational school PTU-50 in Karlivka, he started working as a track layer at the Poltava track division in December 2015. His experience on the railway exceeded 7 years.
He was a quiet, calm, shy, yet responsible worker. Mykola planned to get married and, before heading to the front, promised: "I will return victorious."
On February 26, 2022, Mykola took up arms to defend his homeland, serving as a gunner in the 2nd mechanized platoon.
Mykola was killed on March 19, 2023, while performing a combat mission during an enemy assault near the settlement of Kamianka in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. He was 26 years old (born in 1996, with 7 years of experience, having started work in 2015).
Mykola is survived by his parents, fiancée, and two brothers, one of whom also served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and there has been no information about his fate since January 2023.
The team at the Poltava track division of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" expresses deep sorrow over the loss of Mykola. His promise, "I will return victorious," has forever become a symbol of our struggle. We bow our heads in mourning for his sacrifice.
