Mykola Toktarov
Mykola was born in the village of Prymorske in the Zaporizhzhia region. Since 2008, he worked on the railway as a trackman, and from 2018, he served as a repairman for artificial structures in the Zaporizhzhia track maintenance unit. With the approaching front, Mykola and his family lived in Zaporizhzhia as internally displaced persons.
35-year-old Mykola Toktarov, a repairman for artificial structures, tragically lost his life on March 2, 2024, in his home in the village of Prymorske in Zaporizhzhia. He had gone there to inspect and repair damage from shelling but was caught in another enemy bombardment by "Grad" rockets. A fragment of a rocket struck him in the neck.
His niece Natasha remembers him as an extraordinarily kind, conflict-free, and calm person. He loved his son Bohdan and all the children in the family, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed working the land.
Mykola is survived by his wife Veronika, son Bohdan, and sister Svitlana with her family.
The team at the Zaporizhzhia track maintenance unit of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bows their heads in deep, sorrowful mourning for Mykola Toktarov. May Mykola's memory be eternal!
