Natalia SHEVCHENKO
Nataliya was born and lived in Kharkiv. She dedicated her entire working life—27 years—to the railway. She was an electrical technician at the 3rd category traction substation EChE-Novoselivka, in the Losiiv district of Kharkiv's electrical supply.
46-year-old Nataliya Shevchenko tragically lost her life on October 4, 2022, as a result of enemy shelling.
Colleagues remember Nataliya as a compassionate, caring, and decent person, a true optimist and fearless worker. Since the beginning of the war, she worked tirelessly and never refused night shifts, despite her fears. As her colleagues wrote: “Fearless, delicate, iron-willed, she perished from a piece of metal that came from inhuman beings and leveled the substation building where the railway worker was.” In her free time, Nataliya loved to travel and was a fan of a volleyball team.
Nataliya is survived by her elderly parents.
The team at the Kharkiv electrical supply district of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” remembers their colleague with sorrow. An electrical technician at the traction substation with 27 years of experience, who was a cheerful optimist and “iron” in her courage, died at her workplace. Her selfless work during the war and tragic death are our shared grief and eternal memory of the fragile Heroine of the Kharkiv railway. May she rest in peace.
