Oleg CHERNIUK
Oleg was born and lived in the village of Prymorske in the Zaporizhzhia region. He dedicated 26 years of his life to the railway, initially working as a locksmith, then as a shooter in the Zaporizhzhia battalion of the militarized guard, and later as a wagon inspector-repairman at the Zaporizhzhia-Live depot.
Oleg was cheerful and very sociable, passionate about chemistry and diving in the Kakhovka Reservoir, where he would fish for fish and crayfish. His brother Denys recalls that Oleg dreamed of buying a modern foreign car and renovating his house. He did not have his own family but loved his nephew Ilya like a father.
From the very first days of the war, Oleg took up arms to defend his homeland, serving in the 116th battalion.
48-year-old Oleg Cherniuk was killed on June 14, 2023, during combat operations near the village of Novopil in the Donetsk region.
Oleg is survived by his brother Denys.
The team at the Zaporizhzhia-Live wagon depot and the Zaporizhzhia battalion of the militarized guard of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" bids farewell to Oleg Cherniuk with deep sorrow. Eternal Glory to the Hero!
