Oleg LUSHKIN
Oleg was born and lived in Zaporizhzhia. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the Zaporizhzhia State Engineering Academy. He dedicated almost 10 years to working at the Public Joint Stock Company "Zaporizhzhia Electric Locomotive Repair Plant" (ZELRP), where he served as a production area master in the assembly shop. His grandmother and grandfather also worked at this plant, continuing the family dynasty.
In May 2023, Oleg was mobilized into the ranks of the National Guard of Ukraine (Assault Guard), where he served as a driver in a mortar battery. Since September 2023, he had been carrying out combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia direction. For his service, he received a medal for participation in combat operations.
36-year-old soldier Oleg Lushkin was killed on January 31, 2024, in the area of the village of Novoprokopivka near the city of Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia, coming under enemy fire along with a group of servicemen.
Colleagues remember Oleg as a resilient and hardworking master. He was cheerful, optimistic, and had a great sense of humor. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and working on cars, loved reading books, especially Stephen King's fiction, and was very fond of his nephew.
Oleg is survived by his mother and brother.
