Oleksandr ANIKEIENKO

Along the railway tracks and within the walls of his native depot, Alexander Anikeienko is remembered as a person of reserved yet exceptionally bright and honorable spirit. He dedicated nearly two decades to servicing suburban rolling stock, becoming a true master of his craft. When the time came, he stood up to defend Ukraine, giving the most precious thing for its future.

Alexander was born on December 16, 1984, in the city of Chernihiv. On January 1, 2007, he began his career in a large railway family, starting as a mechanic for rolling stock repair. For over 19 years, Alexander Ihorovych took care of the operational reliability of locomotives and trains in the repair and maintenance shop of the "Chernihiv Motor Car Depot," a branch of the "Suburban Passenger Company" of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," achieving a high 5th professional category.

In the team, he was respected for his impeccable responsibility, kindness, politeness, and readiness to always help his colleagues. Alexander had a calm, balanced character and always strived to live and work honestly and with integrity. Above all, he loved life, cherished his mother and sister, and had an immense love for Ukraine.

On February 12, 2025, Alexander was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On April 30, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Oleshny, in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, communication with the soldier was lost, and he was considered missing for a long time. Only in the autumn of 2026 did official confirmation of his death in that fierce battle arrive.

On September 23, 2026, family, comrades, and railway colleagues bid farewell to the Hero with military honors.

The fallen defender is survived by his mother, Natalia Ivanivna, and sister, Yulia.
