Oleksandr BABYCH
Oleksandr Babich was born and lived in the town of Krasnopillia in the Sumy region. He received vocational education. In 1987, he began working on the railway, serving as a track layer of the 4th category in the Sumy track distance. His total work experience on the railway was about 28 years.
In July 2015, Oleksandr took up arms to defend Ukraine. He served as a second-category border service inspector and a third-group driver for the second division of border service inspectors at the second border outpost of the first border command of the 5th border detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
52-year-old Chief Sergeant Oleksandr Babich passed away on February 25, 2025, in the Krasnopillia District Hospital in the Sumy region. He was severely wounded in the area of the village of Slavgorod in the Sumy region while performing a combat mission due to a mortar shelling.
Responsible, kind, polite, calm, always ready to help others, a loving son and father – this is how Oleksandr will be remembered by those who knew him.
His mother and son were left waiting for him in vain. Oleksandr was buried at the Alley of Glory in the central cemetery of Krasnopillia. We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
