Oleksandr BARINOV
On November 3, 2024, during a combat mission to defend Ukraine, communication with warrior and railway worker Oleksandr Olegovych Barinov was lost. For nearly two years, his mother, colleagues, and comrades lived in a state of anxiety and hope, believing in a miracle. However, in September 2026, official confirmation arrived: Oleksandr fell in battle on that fateful November day, giving his life for the freedom and peaceful future of his homeland. The defender was just 35 years old.
Oleksandr was born on December 10, 1988, in Kharkiv. Aspiring to acquire a quality profession, he graduated from the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" in July 2016, earning a bachelor's degree in welding.
Since April 2017, Oleksandr Olegovych dedicated his life to the steel tracks. He worked as a 3rd category locksmith for the repair of rolling stock in the section for the repair of measuring instruments and automation, as well as for the repair of KMU and auto-stops at the "Locomotive Depot Osnova" production unit of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia." His deep technical knowledge, precision, and diligence made him an essential specialist at the depot, while his sincerity and responsibility earned him the respect of the entire team.
On May 18, 2024, Oleksandr consciously took up the defense of his homeland by joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He exchanged his peaceful tools for weapons to fight for our people's right to live under free and peaceful skies.
This blow was the hardest for the warrior's mother, who lost her dearest person—her son.
The fallen hero is survived by his mother.
The team at the "Locomotive Depot Osnova" production unit of the "Locomotive Company" branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" extends its deepest, heartfelt condolences to Oleksandr's mother. We share your indescribable pain, bow our heads in deep sorrow, and will cherish the memory of your son's courage, nobility, and invaluable heroism. His name is forever inscribed in the history of the railway family.
Eternal memory and glory to the Defender of Ukraine!
