Oleksandr HODLEVSKYI
Oleksandr was born in the village of Makharyntsi in the Vinnytsia region. After school, he enrolled in a railway vocational school, where he trained as an assistant locomotive driver for diesel and electric locomotives. He worked on the railway as a third-class mechanic for rolling stock repair at the Kozatyn locomotive depot of the South-Western Railway.
In April 2018, Oleksandr was drafted into military service as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and with the onset of the Russian invasion, he defended our statehood on the front lines. He served as a senior sailor and scout in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi.
Oleksandr Hodlevskyi was killed on April 7, 2022, in the city of Mariupol in Donetsk region, just one day after his birthday. Oleksandr was forever 24...
He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
The team at the Kozatyn locomotive depot of the regional branch of the South-Western Railway of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" deeply mourns the loss of their colleague, senior sailor Oleksandr Hodlevskyi. We honor his heroism and bravery, recognized by the Order of Courage. Eternal memory to the marine!
