Oleksandr Karpuk
Oleksandr was from the village of Selets in the Turiysk district of Volyn. He worked as a car inspector and repairman at the operational car depot in Kovel. Colleagues recall that he loved his job, performing it skillfully and diligently, as the safety of train operations depended on it.
When the country was in danger, Oleksandr joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine without hesitation on the first day of the full-scale war. For almost a year and a half, he fought in the hottest conflict zones with his unit against the occupiers.
32-year-old Oleksandr Karpuk was killed on July 2, 2023, during a fierce battle in the Kharkiv direction. A hostile bullet took his young life.
The community of his native village, Selets, honored and laid to rest the fallen Hero with dignity.
The defender is survived by his mother and brother.
The team at the operational car depot in Kovel, JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia," respectfully and with profound sorrow honors the memory of Oleksandr Karpuk. His uncompromising responsibility and young life, cut short for freedom, will forever serve as an example for us. Glory to the Hero of Ukraine!
